17th Century Dutch Filigree Watch Case Movement by Matthys Bockels


17th Century Dutch Filigree Pair Case Watch Case, 

with Movement by Matthys Bockels, Harlem, Holland.

c. 1630.

Bockels was working in Harlem c.1610 - 1630.(citation needed)

Victoria and Albert Museum.

This is another important piece from the point of view of identifying Dutch 17th Century Silver Filigree and techniques used.

The cases of these watches were almost certainly sub contracted to specialist craftsmen.
