18th Century Writing Box at Skokloster Castle

18th Century Writing Box at Skokloster Castle, Sweden.

A very curious piece.

The rosewood veneers? on the carcase suggests to me that this piece is perhaps not Scandinavian.

The veneers appear very thin suggesting to me a later date.

It is difficult to tell what the stones are - some appear to be Lapiz Lazuli, some turquoise and others perhaps agates.

It is possible that the whole thing is a marriage.
