Another Related Silver Gilt and Silver Filigree Casket.
A very similar casket to the ALJ Casket above, Silver filigree backed with Silver Gilt Panels.
Sold Sotheby's London, Arts of the Islamic World 20 April 2016 / Lot 140.
Described by Sotheby's as Indo Portuguese - I believe that these caskets are Northern European possibly German or French.
The style of the filigree here has similarities to the work on the table, mirror and gueridons at Rosenborg Castle, Denmark - with Queen Charlotte Amalie’s monogram in silver filigree ornaments. The whole set, (made in France?) in 1669, was originally black with Frederik III’s monogram.
I have contacted Rosenborg and hope to receive better images of their furniture in due course.

The workmanship on this casket is so close to the ALJ Casket above that they must certainly have come from the same workshop and possibly the same toilet set.
