The single spring barrel movement with outside verge escapement and pierced side pillars.

8cm wide x 6cm deep x 18cm high.

Made for the Ottoman, Turkish market.

Marwick and Markham, Clock and watchmakers specialising in export to the Ottoman Empire. 

The partnership of James Markwick, who was Master of the Clockmakers' Company in 1720, and Robert Markham. 

James Markwick II (b. c. 1662 - d. 1730) with his son-in-law, Robert Markham (d. 1747).

Even after the death of the founders the company continued in business under their name with business partnerships associated with the Perigal family, Story, Borrell.
