18th Century Italian Filigree.
18th Century Silver Filigree Genoese Monstrance.
In the treasury of the Duomo, Pisa.
This object contains the relics of Santa Rosa da Lima, a Peruvian nun of the Dominican third order who lived between the end of the 16th century and the 17th century, and Sant'Antonio, bishop of Florence and San Lorenzo Giustiniani first patriarch of Venice, who lived in the 15th century; the decision to associate the relics of these saints in a single reliquary probably shows that the object comes from the Dominican sphere, but it was not possible to identify the seal on the back.
This monstrance / reliquary can be
traced back to the Genoese area due to the shape of the object, the rendering
of the details and the introduction of the decorative motif of the tulips.
