Queen Juliana's Silver Filigree Casket.
Mid/ Late? 18th Century.
Illustrated here with some further similar caskets for comparison.
They all have similar methods of construction - the double twisted silver filigree wire elements are set within rectangular section silver wire frames with a distinct curvilinear style.
Previously with London Dealer Michael Backman.

Provenance - Private UK Collection; Sotheby's Amsterdam, The Estate of
Queen Juliana of The Netherlands.
The axe mark. (this mark was used in Holland between 1814 and 1953).

Length: 16cm, height: 7.5cm, depth: 11.6cms.
It is without any maker’s marks but it does have Dutch import
marks to the lid and base in the form of an axe stamp denoting at least 0.833
fineness and used on items that were deemed to be antique at the time of being
presented for assaying. (This mark was used between 1814 and 1953.)

Queen Adelaide's Silver Filigree Casket.
Queen Adelaide of Saxe Meiningen (1792-1849) wife of King William IV.
Now in the Art Gallery of South Australia.
Previously with London dealer Michael Backman.
Length: 18cm, depth: 12.5cm, height: 9cms.
This large silver filigree lidded box was used by Queen
Adelaide (b. 1792-1849), consort to King William (r. 1830-1837).
The box had most recently been in a private collection in the US. It was acquired from the New York dealers John Wells in the earlier in the 20th century
