An 18th Century Miniature Bureau by Johannes Muller

 Miniature Silver Gilt and Silver Filigree Bureau 

containing Miniatures of the Danish Crown Jewels.

Rosenborg Castle, Copenhagen.

Signed and Dated Johannes Muller, 1736.


Miniature Bureau by Johannes Müller, 1733. who was a leading goldsmith working in filigree in Bergen. Date of birth is not known, an apprentice in the Bergen workshop of Johannes Johannesen Reimers the younger 1709-16 and became a master goldsmith in 1723. D.1739. 












W.11.5cms. Height 14.2cms. D.5.2cms.

12-231: Model of a Bureau in silver gilt silver filigree. 

Made by Johannes Müller, Bergen, Norway 1734 –  to remember the visit of the king Christian VI in 1733.

 

To Rosenborg in 1867 from the Kunstkammer.

 1772 from the estate of Queen Sophie Magdalene (1700-70) – married to Christian VI.
